St. Louis Catholic Church

St. Louis Catholic Church

The third church to house the ever-growing St. Louis parish community was built between 1868 and 1870 under the organization of Father Peter Richard and is the church you see today, facing Houston Square in the heart of Castroville.  The first St. Louis church still stands on the grounds of the historic Moye Retreat Center. Each August, St. Louis Catholic Church hosts a huge celebration, dubbed the  “Granddaddy of all Church Festivals” on the Sunday closest to August 25th at Koenig Park.
